Structured Cabling

Hotel network cabling installation — the physical layer done properly, once.

Cat6a structured cabling, fibre backbone and comms room fit-out for hotels and hospitality developments — new-build and live-building retrofit, tested and certified.

Why it matters

Every outage we're called in to fix eventually traces back to the cabling.

Wi-Fi, IPTV, PMS, VoIP and CCTV all get the attention because they're what guests and staff notice. The structured cabling underneath gets noticed only when it's wrong — a run that fails intermittently under load, a comms room nobody can make sense of, containment that was never sized for what the building actually needed. Getting the physical layer right the first time is the cheapest point in a hotel's lifecycle to do it.

Project types

New-build, retrofit or multi-building — sequenced around your programme.

New-build hotels
  • First-fix during construction
  • Coordinated with M&E and AV
  • Sized for the full building lifecycle
Refurbishments & retrofits
  • Live-building phasing
  • Minimal guest disruption
  • Legacy cabling audit & replacement
MDU & multi-building estates
  • Campus fibre backbone
  • Per-building comms rooms
  • Scales as the development grows

What we deliver

From first fix to certified test results.

01

Cat6a horizontal cabling

Every access point, PMS terminal, IPTV set-top box, VoIP handset and camera needs a certified run back to the comms room. We install Cat6a as standard — enough headroom for Wi-Fi 6E/7 access points and PoE++ devices without a mid-life recable.

02

Fibre backbone

Riser and campus fibre linking comms rooms floor to floor or building to building — single-mode for long runs and multimode within a building, sized for redundancy rather than just meeting today's bandwidth.

03

Comms room design & fit-out

Rack layout, patch panel organisation, cable management, power distribution and cooling — designed so the next engineer who opens the rack can understand it in minutes, not hours.

04

First fix & second fix

Containment, back boxes and first-fix cable runs during construction; faceplates, patching and second-fix termination once the building is ready — sequenced around the wider construction and fit-out programme.

05

Testing & certification

Every run tested and certified against TIA/ISO performance standards with BICSI-aligned methodology, with full test result documentation handed over — not just a verbal 'it's fine'.

Retrofit & live-building installs

Not every project is new-build. We run cabling through occupied hotels and residential buildings with minimal disruption — phased floor-by-floor, out-of-hours where needed, coordinated with housekeeping and operations.

FAQ

Cabling installation — questions we get asked.

Cat6a supports 10 Gigabit speeds over the full 100m run and handles the higher power draw of modern PoE++ devices and Wi-Fi 6E/7 access points. The incremental cost over Cat6 is small compared to the cost of recabling a live hotel in five years.

Yes. Most of our cabling work in existing properties is phased floor-by-floor during working hours, or out-of-hours where the property needs zero guest-facing disruption — coordinated directly with your operations team.

Tested and certified. Every run is tested against TIA/ISO performance standards using BICSI-aligned methodology, with full test documentation handed over as part of the project close-out.

Yes — rack layout, patch panel organisation, power and cooling are part of the same engagement. A cabling installation is only as good as the comms room it terminates into.

Yes. Riser and campus fibre backbone between comms rooms and buildings is a standard part of hospitality cabling projects, alongside the Cat6a horizontal cabling to each outlet.

Cabling is the physical layer everything else runs on. It's typically delivered alongside — or as the first phase of — our wider hotel IT infrastructure, Wi-Fi and new-build IT projects.

Planning a new build or refurbishment?

Get the cabling right at first fix and everything you build on top of it — Wi-Fi, IPTV, PMS, VoIP — has a stable foundation.
